Like lots of little girls, I had a dollshouse to play with as a child and I can still remember the joy of decorating and furnishing it. Looking back I realise that the wallpapering of walls and the sewing of curtains was a mishmash, but of course, as a child I thought it was wonderful.
Always fascinated by dolls houses I decided at the ripe old age of 50+ that I would buy myself one and rekindle some of those pleasures remembered.
I took two weeks off work, bought a kit and spent the entire fortnight sandpapering, ( anyone who has made a DH will tell you there is a LOT of sandpapering involved), glueing, papering and hardwiring the miniature world I was creating.
I have always been a keen stitcher, knitter and embroiderer,so it was inevitable that I found my sewing skills were soon put to use furnishing little rooms for little people.
It wasn't long before I had started building a second premises, this time a Emporiam and Coffee Shop, and then another house currently under construction as a home for my wizards and witches...along with a vampire and dragon in residence.
And waiting in the wings is an old clock case which is to be converted into a clockmakers workshop...
And now I have found another outlet, by making handcrafted mini textiles and selling them in my Ebid auction store.
I never thought I had an addictive nature but obviously I do when it come to dollhouses and miniatures.
